“ We held a large birthday party at Gu, and it was wonderful! We enjoyed every aspect of the evening - the food, the ambiance and the service. We will definitely go back there! ”
“ We love Gu! Have been many times and it's always a great experience. The sushi is fresh, the service is fast, and the drinks are cheap!! Happy hour until 10pm every night with $7 cocktails -- can't beat that. It's typically quieter on week nights and busier on weekends, at least in our experience. Would recommend! ”
“ Great Happy Hour spot on 52nd street . Their HH cocktails are $7 and that's a great deal . I started with a Sakitini (sake with lychee liquor and 2 big lychee pieces in it.) Wow that was delicious, get one. My friend had a Watermelon Mojito and that was good too and tasted like Summer. We started with some sushi rolls. The spicy Tuna and the Osaka roll with fried salmon in it . Get the Osaka Roll - that was so good . Staff are nice too . For mains I got the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box , this comes with shumai and sushi and salad. Good deal . My friend got the Hibachi Chicken and Salmon Bento Box and his came with some shrimp and fried rice. He enjoyed that . For our 2nd round of drinks my friend got the Blue Hawaii with rum and blue curacao and pineapple juice . Again it was so delicious. Passionfruit drink was ok . Yasai Gyoza veggie dumplings are alright. I would skip the Calamari though . Bathrooms are clean . Next time I would try a sushi entree but this is a great Happy Hour spot . Subway right around the corner. Recommended ”
“ I have seen this restaurant on my MealPal app before, but I've never tried it. This was the first time they offered Chicken instead of Salmon Teriyaki. It could have been offered before, but I might have missed it... The minute I got to the restaurant, my order was ready. The server behind the counter nicely excused the two gentlemen waiting for their orders, let me scan my code, and handed my order with a smile. Amazing!! I didn't really get a good look at the atmosphere since my order was ready so quickly. I will try to take a longer peek next time. My Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box was amazing and delicious. It came with two appetizers and two sides. I'm looking forward to see what's going to be on their menu for next week! ”

“ Gu is an adorable restaurant with a relaxed vibe and colorful lights throughout the whole venue. The waitstaff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. I went out with two of my friends for an early dinner after finding this place on Yelp, and all I can say is, I'm so happy I did. First of all, let me start off by saying that I give this restaurant major props for doing a Happy Hour 7 days a week, instead of just 5, as most other restaurants often do. It's extremely rare to find that, but I give Gu major props on extending Happy Hour to weekends. On the Happy Hour menu, you not only have a wide variety of options, they're all half off. I got the Tokyo Jolly Rancher, which had sake, lychee liquor, peach schnapps, and orange juice. Not only was it delicious and easy to drink, it cost me only $7- one of the lowest prices I've ever paid for a cocktail, and an amazing one at that! Moving on to the food, I absolutely loved what I had to eat. I got the veggie and tofu teriyaki with brown rice. For $19, it came with a choice of miso soup or green salad, as well as a side of rice. The veggies were nicely steamed, and when I bit in to the tofu, I was surprised to find that they had fried silken tofu. It didn't take away from the deliciousness of the meal at all, but I thought it was an interesting and different take. All in all, I had a great experience, and I will definitely be coming back here! ”
“ Great spot for a quick lunch (or dinner). Love eating here when I am jn town. I have always done takeout, but I see people are eating in, having drinks, etc. I would love to stop by for a casual dinner some time. ”
“ We had stopped by next door for pizza, and the sign outside mentioned happy hour, so we ventured inside. Drink options were pretty good and a good deal. The crispy rice was a good choice for a snack, but not good for sharing. Atmosphere was pleasant, especially being visitors in the city. ”
